Code of Conduct
- A person's identity (including, but not limited to — race, gender, sexuality, disability, religion) must never be treated as a punchline or a matter that is up for debate.
- Every member of our community is equal and worthy of respect, as are their opinions and boundaries.
- Assume best intentions, but please tell us if anything is of concern to you.
- Keep any physical contact safe and socially appropriate.
- Listen with an open mind if somebody else speaks up.
- Play to the top of your intelligence and integrity.
- Please don't attend sessions under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Don't photograph or record other participants without their explicit consent.
- These standards apply to how you treat fellow community members generally, not just during Dogface sessions.
How will this be implemented?
Any concern raised will be reviewed by a member of the Dogface management team who is not involved in the situation. We keep a confidential record of concerns so we can respond fairly and consistently.
- Most situations are resolved with a quiet, private conversation between the people involved.
- Where a pattern of behaviour is affecting others, we will have a clear conversation about what needs to change and what happens if it does not, and we will follow up.
- A serious incident may mean we ask a member to leave the session or course immediately. If you are asked to leave, we will refund the prorated remainder of your course fees.
- This applies even where the behaviour occurs outside our sessions, as it affects the trust the community relies on.
We care about everyone's wellbeing, including yours. Dogface is an improv community, not a support service, so where someone needs more help than we are able to offer we will do our best to point them toward appropriate support.
How can I share a concern?
If you have any concerns or experience any behaviour which you deem inappropriate, please get in touch with a member of the Dogface management team. You can choose whichever of us you feel most comfortable approaching:
